What is an Electronic Cigarette (E-Cigarette)?

 Electronic cigarettes (also known as E-Cigarettes, e-cigs or personal vaporizers) are high tech devices that simulate the experience of smoking.  Through the use of their advanced technology they produce a vapour, not smoke.

How does it compare to " The Real Thing"?

Smoking an electronic cigarette is very close to "The Real Thing". The e-liquid (depending on flavor used) can provide a taste very similar to a traditional brand, and the electronic cigarette also produces a smoke-like vapor that looks like normal smoke.

What makes the "smoke"?

A mixture of vegetable glycerin  and flavoring are the components of the "E-liquid".

How long do cartridges and E-liquid last?

This varies a little based on the model of electronic cigarette, but generally a cartridge lasts around the equivalent of 5-7 cigarettes or more.

Does E-smoking or "vaporizing" cost less?

Yes! Based on smoking a pack a day, E-cigarettes on average cost about 1/4 as much!

Who are Electronic Cigarettes intended for?

Electronic Cigarettes are intended for mature adult smokers, of legal age to purchase cigarette products in your province.

When you are looking to buy e-cigarettes you should research the type of unit(s) you wish to use, and weigh the pro’s and con’s of each.

 The Electronic Cigarette's Four Major Components       

The Battery:

A high quality lithium battery, is the longest part of an electronic cigarette, and provides the power needed for the unit. The end of the battery has a L.E.D light that lights up when the unit is being "inhaled" on, to indicate it is being used (and also gives more of the visual effect of a normal cigarette). The battery life usually is about 2 - 6 hours of "standard" use, ( depending on model ) and takes about 2-3 hours to fully recharge in the supplied charger.

The Atomizer:

The atomizer is the part of the electronic cigarette that actually produces the "vapor". The basic concept of an atomizer is their is a tiny coil of wire inside, that heats up when the electronic cigarette is used, and this in turn converts the e-liquid inside the unit into the smoke like vapor that is produced.

The Cartridge:

The cartridge is the part of the e-cigarette that is drawn on, like the filter on a cigarette. The cartridge contains the e-liquid and they can come in several types and shapes depending on the model of e-cigarette.

E-Liquid  / E-Juice:

The e-liquid is the liquid contained in a cartridge that when heated, produces a simulated "smoke" that is actually a vapor. Since it is not created by burning tobacco like a normal cigarette, it does not produce any second hand smoke. E-Juice contains natural flavorings and Vegetable Glycerin, which is a safe organic compound which produces the vapor.

What Is Vegetable Glycerin ?

Vegetable glycerine, is a clear, virtually odorless viscous fluid which is slightly thicker and sweeter than propylene glycol. Vegetable Glycerin is extracted from the natural oils found in vegetables and is used in more than 1500 applications, many of them as additives to food and drink.
